This project involved the comprehensive remodelling of a Mews property, including basement excavation and the creation of a lightwell to flood the lower floor with natural light.
Situated within a tightly constrained urban setting, the works required careful coordination to manage structural challenges and preserve the character of the historic building.
The scope included bespoke joinery designed to maximise space, alongside sensitive interventions to improve spatial flow and daylight throughout the property.
Designed by Sonneman Toon Architects, the project was completed with high-quality finishes and detailed craftsmanship, delivering a functional yet elegant home.
The scheme was recognised for its design excellence, winning the UK Property Awards 2016 ‘Architecture Single Residence’ and being shortlisted in the AJ Retrofit Awards 2016 ‘Retrofit House’ category, highlighting Whistlers’ expertise in blending innovative solutions with heritage sensitivity.
