We carried out simultaneous lateral conversions within commercial premises across 4 six-storey buildings. This required the removal of spine walls at lower ground and ground floors and new steel support. The floor level at lower ground was reduced. James St is a narrow one-way street adjacent to Oxford St, W1. An extensive traffic management plan was introduced that involved complex diversions and manual traffic management to allow the street to be closed each day to allow deliveries and the removal of waste. Specific extensive noise reduction methods reduced the impact on neighbours. Special liaison with surrounding businesses was required to manage the works so it had the minimal disturbance on their various businesses.
